Project Highlights
The 1.7MW – 103 meter wind turbine is located within the US Army’s Western Region munitions storage depot and was built in collaboration with Icenogle Construction Management of San Francisco. The US Army Corps of Engineers was the awarding authority and technical stakeholder.
It is estimated that the GE wind turbine will generate 5.1 million kWh of electricity per year.
The turbine measures a height of 270 feet and has a rotor diameter of 337 feet.
The wind turbine is part of a “Renewable Energy” portfolio for the US Army that will be headquartered at TEAD.
